Foot & Ankle Surgery Providers

Allie Nyquist, DPM
“I have always practiced the philosophy that patients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
When you know, you know, and Hudson Physicians newest podiatrist, Allie Nyquist, DPM, knew in high school that being a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine was her calling. “I began my career in podiatry when I was 15 years old as part of a high school mentorship with a local podiatrist. On my first day, they took me to a surgery and the rest is history. I continued to work in the office for the next three years, which solidified my interest. I believe podiatry is a hidden gem of a profession,” she says.
Practicing in the field of medicine, especially podiatry, has offered Dr. Nyquist the opportunity to meld her love of science with her desire to create meaningful connections with others. Since podiatry involves a wide range of career options within clinical and surgical practice, it allows her to diagnose and treat a very diverse group of conditions.
Her specific medical interests include all pathologies of the foot and ankle with a special emphasis in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports injuries, foot deformities, ankle pain, flat feet, diabetic foot care, skin and soft tissue pathology, wound care, nail pathology, and trauma.
Having lived all around the United States, Dr. Nyquist is a Midwest gal at heart. She jumped at the opportunity to join the Hudson Physicians practice where she feels that the many specialties and services under one roof allows for a valuable level of camaraderie and collaboration that ultimately benefits patients.
It is here in Hudson that Dr. Nyquist looks forward to her most rewarding scenario – having a patient walk out of the office pain-free after an appointment. She says, “It is important to remember that you don’t have to live with foot pain. I always encourage patients to come in no matter how small the pain or issue is because the answer may be simpler than they realize.”
Her advice for overall health is multifaceted: rely on friends and family for accountability and companionship, ignore health fads, small changes lead to long-term habits, and maintaining a schedule or routine can alleviate stressors.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Nyquist is always up for an adventure and you can find her kayaking, traveling, gardening, and searching for new eateries, breweries, and distilleries. And as a photographer, she is more than likely documenting it all. Oh, and for all of you Breaking Bad fans out there? Make sure to ask Allie about her television debut as an extra in the hit series…
