“Obstetrics is one of the few examples in medicine when a woman looks forward to her appointment. I love that.”
Dr. Susa, DO, specializes in prenatal care and delivery of babies, whether a natural birth, VBAC or more complicated labor and delivery process. He understands every woman has a unique story and their own preferences. He listens and treats each of his patients as individuals, and works with them to achieve the best results.
In addition to obstetrics, Dr. Susa has a particular expertise in gynecologic surgery for the treatment of heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding. There are multiple treatment options that have advantages and disadvantages. “Everyone’s decision process is so different and my job is simply to assist my patients in making the right one for them and their unique situation.”
Dr. Susa helps his patients navigate infertility issues. Dr. Susa understands that it can be overwhelming and emotional for a woman and her partner to sort through all of the information that is available on the internet in regards to infertility. He helps couples determine diagnostic testing and treatment options that best fit their needs. “There is nothing more rewarding to me than following a patient from infertility to delivery.”
In his free time, Dr. Susa loves spending time with his family and friends. He has four children ranging in age from 5-15 and most of his free time revolves around their activities. “On the weekends I can most often be found at a ballpark or gym. I wouldn’t have it any other way. As a family we enjoy spending time together at our cabin. In the winter, we’ve found that downhill skiing is something we all enjoy and can do together as a family.”
Dr. Susa admits that running is not for him. He stays healthy by counting steps and setting a 10,000 step goal per day.
